Facilities Staff

As a Facility Staff member, a typical day may include the following:

  • Perform building and equipment maintenance and inspection for all aspects of Sender One (Sender City elements, top ropes, rental fleet, etc.)
  • Sharing creative beta to solve problems
  • Discover and implement improvements on existing methods of maintenance and inspection tasks.
  • Seeing the facility from the customer’s perspective, then repair or make improvements where you see fit
  • Conduct inventory and make orders for sanitary supplies
  • Take on different projects and learn from them
  • Manage and use the facilities budget for physical improvements and repairs
  • Connect with third-party vendors for facility repairs, maintenance, and improvements as well as getting quotes for such work

You are someone who:

  • Solves problems and thinks fast their your feet
  • Develops new and creative solutions
  • Has the ability to work productively and efficiently with little to no supervision
  • Thinks independently and is not afraid to think outside the box
  • Has technical knowledge and use of tools

Your time commitment to the Sender One team:

  • Spend 15-24 hours with Facilities
  • Attend Weekly facilities meeting.
  • Must be able to work off-peak facility hours.

Youth Programs Team Coach

As a Youth Program Team Coach, a typical day may include the following:

  • Sharing your passion of climbing by instructing groups of 6-12 kids, ages 7-17, about climbing techniques based on the curriculum developed by the Head Coach
  • Seeing things from the customers’ perspectives by applying effective customer service skills to both the parents and kids who participate in the Youth Program offerings
  • Sharing creative beta with other Youth Program staff by exercising adaptable coaching techniques in order to keep the overall group engaged and address the needs of the individual athletes
  • Climbing together by offering support, guidance, positive reinforcement, and encouragement to all Youth Program participants
  • Participating in the continual improvement of the Youth Program Recreational & Competitive Programs

You are someone who:

  • Has experience working professionally with kids
  • Provides excellent customer service

  • Ability to inspire, motivate & develop participants
  • Has climbed consistently for at least 2 years. Great if able to lead climb!

Your time commitment to the Sender One team:

  • Work with the team for 6-8 hrs/wk as part of our brand new programming with a minimum of 8 days a month to maintain staff benefits. As the programs grow the hours will grow to 10-12+ hrs/wk
  • Support the busy team by being willing to work at least one weekend day each week
  • Gather together for our mandatory quarterly staff meetings

As the Head Coach of Team Sender One, a typical day may include the following:

  • Sharing your passion of climbing by developing a progressive and age-appropriate training curriculum  for a competitive youth team of 6-12 athletes as well as leading both the participants and coaches through weekly practices in a way that emphasizes fun, fosters a love of climbing and supports each team member’s personal development and growth
  • Having the opportunity to see things from customers’ perspectives by applying & balancing effective customer service skills to both the parents and kids who participate in Team Sender One
  • Sharing creative beta with other Team coaches by exercising adaptable coaching techniques based on the needs of the individual students
  • Climbing together by offering support, guidance, positive reinforcement, and encouragement to all participants of Team Sender One during practices and competitions and by coordinating team community events such as climbing trips and parent meetings
  • Learning from the needs of the team by regularly checking in with the coaches and families in order to provide exemplary coaching and facilitate continual improvement of the team

Sender One is seeking qualified Route Setters to join our dynamic team!  We are a highly motivated crew of climbers who love that we get paid to climb, appreciate the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of climbing movement through practice, and share that love and appreciation through what we give back to our community of climbers.

Essential Setting Skills:

  • Basic understanding of commercial setting methods and ideology
  • Creativity and experimentation in route setting
  • Lead climbing proficiency and ability to redpoint AT LEAST 5.12+/V7
  • Ability to set from a suspension system (i.e. either from a ground anchor or a fixed-rope anchor)
  • WIllingness to be a proactive member of a team

Youth Programs Coach

Sender One is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and positive coach who is committed to building an outstanding program within the philosophy and educational goals of our program. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, and is passionate and knowledgeable about the sport of rock climbing. Candidate must have several years of personal rock climbing experience both indoors and outdoors. Candidate must have experience working with children ages 6 to 17 in coaching and/or camps.
