Vinyasa Flow (Various Levels)

Vinyasa Flow yoga is an evolving form of traditional Hatha yoga that focuses on integrating breath and movement, awareness and alignment, strength and flexibility. Through flowing sequences, students of our Vinyasa Flow classes enjoy a dynamic and energetic atmosphere, allowing them to reach new levels in their yogic practice. Vinyasa classes are best if you are already physically active, comfortable with the basic yoga postures, and appreciate a healthy sweat.

Vinyasa Flow 1 (Beginner): Vinyasa 1 is a slower-paced flow class geared towards those who are new to yoga or prefer a gentle class. We take time to break down sun salutations and other poses fundamental to a Vinyasa practice. Props and modifications are offered for proper alignment and ease in the postures, making our Vinyasa 1 class an excellent option for those learning yoga for the first time.

Vinyasa Flow 1/2 (Beginner): Vinyasa 1/2 is an energetic flow class that balances pace and intensity to make postures accessible to all students. These classes may incorporate deeper backbends, hip opening, twists, and forward folds. Props and modifications are offered for proper alignment and ease in the postures. If you already have some experience in Vinyasa, our Vinyasa 1/2 yoga class is a great option for you.

Vinyasa Flow 2 (Intermediate): Vinyasa 2 classes explore more complex movements and sequences including arm balances and inversions layered over solid foundations. These classes may also incorporate deeper backbends, hip opening, twists, and forward folds. We recommend our Vinyasa 2 yoga class for students with a prior understanding of Vinyasa postures, but all of our instructors can offer modifications as needed.

Vinyasa Flow 2/3 (Advanced): Take your vinyasa practice to the next level with this powerful flow class. Practice dynamic postures, move through challenging transitions, and experience the satisfaction of advanced sequencing. By linking breath to movement, students will improve both their physical and mental strength and endurance. We generally recommend this class only for students with prior experience in Vinyasa Flow yoga.

Strength Yoga (All Levels)

Strength Yoga is a fusion of yoga, mat pilates, traditional calisthenics, and small weight exercises inspired by barre classes. The movement is challenging yet accessible for all, and weights are always optional. The class utilizes classic yoga warm-up’s/cool-down’s and sun salutations, mixes it with a healthy-dose of core activating pilates, and incorporates overall body strengthening moves that use a variety of props. Our Strength Yoga class is perfect for anyone who wants to improve whole-body strength but keep the flexibility and movement benefits of yoga.

Yin Yang Yoga (All Levels)

Yin is a passive form of yoga that focuses on the connective tissues — the ligaments, tendons, and fascia — of the body. By applying moderate stress to these connective tissues, Yin Yoga aims to increase circulation in joints and improve overall flexibility. Yin postures are typically held for about three-to-five minutes and can be achieved while standing, sitting, or lying on the floor. Yin postures are generally held longer to cultivate a meditative mindset and deeper physical opening.This can be a perfect complement to an active life, creating softness in the body and stillness in the mind. For a completely integrated practice, this class also combines a strong heating ‘Yang’ Vinyasa Flow along with the quiet cooling ‘Yin’ aspects of relaxing and restorative poses. Our Yin Yang yoga class is the perfect option for yoga students who want to explore more aspects of yogic practice and take their flexibility and bodily awareness to the next level.

Restorative Yoga (All Levels)

Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxation, not stretching. Through the use of props, the body is placed in comfortable and fully supported postures that allow the muscles to completely relax. Postures are held for extended periods of time, allowing you to completely rest the body, mind, and nervous system. This meditative practice helps cultivate a needed balance between body and mind, while also dissolving any mental and physical tension. Restorative yoga strives to help you find peace and calm by providing a respite from a busy lifestyle. Our Restorative yoga classes are also a great option for athletes looking for a way to replenish their body after climbing or any other sport.

Art of Arm Balances (Intermediate)

In this workshop-style class you’ll learn the ins and outs of arm balancing, starting with prep poses to thoroughly warm up your body and shoulder strengthening poses to prepare you to take flight. Each class will focus on a specific arm balance, with step-by-step instructions to give you greater clarity and confidence when moving into the pose. Options will be given to modify if you’re new to the practice or to progress into advanced variations if you’re ready for more.

Move and Meditate (All Levels)

Move and Meditate is designed to help you dive deeper into your journey of self-discovery and the true meaning of yoga — the union of the mind, body and spirit. The class incorporates many aspects of the yoga practice, including movement (asana), breath techniques (pranayama), and mantra to support a deeper experience of your practice and prepare you for meditation.

Hatha Yoga (Intermediate)

Build strength and stamina in body and mind. Our Intermediate Hatha Yoga 2 class is a balance between flowing Vinyasa and longer holds of Hatha Yoga. Postures are linked with breath to facilitate the art of control and surrender. In this class we alternate between pranayama and meditation techniques so that you have a really rounded yoga experience and enjoy the challenge and rewards that yoga has to offer. We invite you to have fun, honor your body, and practice at your own pace.

Acro Yoga (All Levels)

Acro Yoga is a practice that combines the dynamic wisdom of acrobatics, the awareness, breath and balance of yoga and the healing, loving nature of Thai massage. Working with one or more partners these three disciplines are fused into spectacular sequences of inversions, flows and balances.  Acro Yoga is a community practice, which means that you are working with other people.  In this class we practice developing trust, connection and openness which can then be taken into the community as a whole. In Acro Yoga, the smallest community is 3 people covering the 3 main roles of base, flyer and spotter.

CORE CONDITIONING (ALL LEVELS)

One of the most crucial components to training for climbing is developing a strong core. This quick but intense weekly class will combine traditional core exercises with movements from yoga and pilates to strengthen your body in a challenging, well-rounded workout. Besides preparing you to send your projects, a strong core can also help to prevent injury and maintain good posture.

 

MAT PILATES (ALL LEVELS)

Mat Pilates is done on the floor using a yoga mat.  Mat Pilates utilizes breathing patterns, specific exercises performed in a controlled, precise manner, and your own body weight as the primary source of resistance to build core strength and spinal stability. Learn to activate your deep core muscles in each movement for optimal strength.  Pilates improves muscle tone, body balance, spinal support, low back health, sports performance, and body-mind awareness.  Pilates is a safe yet highly effective way to strengthen, stretch, and streamline your body and improve performance in your daily life.  Appropriate for all levels, modifications given for beginners, pregnancy, and physical limitations.
