About the Sender One Cares Program and Our Commitment

Our purpose is to discover ourselves and connect with others through climbing. We are committed to justice, equity, inclusion, and diversity of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, religion, and socio-economic status amongst our climbing community. 

Internally, we are committed to fostering a diverse pool of candidates for jobs, welcoming open and thoughtful dialogue that nurtures understanding across differences, and providing training that builds a culture of diversity and inclusion. 

We are actively focused on breaking down barriers that limit participation in the sport of climbing through partnerships with organizations that share in these ideals and plan events that nurture and support underrepresented groups. Our goal with the Sender One Cares Program is to ensure that this workplace, programming, and member community embody the demographic of our neighborhoods.

Send with Color
We're committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the climbing community through thoughtful hiring and training practices, building alliances with BIPOC organizations, and tailoring programming to include minority and low-income groups.

Send with Pride
We strive to create positive climbing experiences for our community, supporting each member for whatever their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression may be.

Send with Women
Dedicated to empowering women as strong individuals and leaders, we look to provide a safe and supportive community for women and non-binary climbers. Send with Women initiatives strive to both foster relationships and encourage personal growth.

Send Forward
We are partnering and strengthening relationships with organizations focusing on efforts to make climbing more accessible to low income groups and underprivileged groups.

Crag Cleanups & Meetups
We're working together with organizations focused on keeping our crags clean and accessible while better educating the climbing community about maintaining our favorite outdoor spaces.

Land Acknowledgement

Sender One recognizes that we occupy land originally and still inhabited and cared for by the Tongva, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh, Chumash, and Juaneño Band of Mission Indians/Acjachemen Nation Peoples. We honor and pay respect to their elders and descendants — past, present, and emerging — as they continue their stewardship of these lands. Through Care for the Crag we will work to foster acknowledgement & respect of the land and to teach responsible recreation.
