Front Desk Staff

Sender One is looking for enthusiastic, hard working climbers to join our team. We are looking for Front Desk Staff who want to share their passion for climbing with our guests, making it a welcoming and helpful experience for climbers of all ages.

As a Sender One Front Desk staffer, on a typical day you may:

  • Connect to guests with a big smile and positive energy;
  • Take first time visitors on orientation tours of your Sender One facility;
  • See things from customers’ perspectives and set them up with the offering most suitable for them;
  • Mentor new climbers and staff;
  • Provide instruction, encouragement, corrections, and information to other climbers;
  • Huddle with three to six other front desk staff;
  • Inspire new people to climb;
  • Take on and finish different projects and tasks and learn from them;
  • Manage the inherent risks involved with climbing;
  • Curate experiences and challenges for children and families in Sender City;
  • Monitor and enforce proper use of Sender City elements and equipment;
  • Report any problems or incidents to the on-shift supervisor promptly;
  • Sort, clean, and organize Sender One rental equipment and spaces.

You are someone who:

Your time commitment to the Sender One team:

  • Work a minimum of twelve (12) to twenty (20) hours per week;
  • Work at least one weekend day (Sat-Sun) per week;
  • Attend quarterly staff meetings.

Yoga Instructor Substitute

As a Yoga Instructor, in a typical class, you’ll need to:

  • Connect to students with a big smile and positive energy;
  • Mentor new yogis and staff by understanding their viewpoints and sharing yours;
  • Provide instruction, encouragement, adjustments, and other information to students;
  • Inspire new people to discover yoga;
  • Manage the inherent risks to your students involved with practicing yoga.

You are someone who:

  • Provides excellent customer service and attentive instruction;
  • Enjoys introducing climbers to yoga and yogis to climbing;
  • Develops new and creative sequences to teach as well as adaptations for each student;
  • Thinks independently and creatively;
  • Climbs!

Your time commitment to the Sender One team:

  • Teach one(1) to three (3) classes per week
  • Create and lead optional yoga workshops (quarterly, biannually, or annually)

Summer Camp Counselor

Sender One is passionate about educating children about climbing! We are seeking a Summer Camp Counselor who can manage and connect with the youth of all ages, foster enthusiasm, and guide young people to reach their full potential. A Counselor should be an individual who can both inspire the youth climbers and relate easily with their parents. Enthusiasm and passion are a must, as well an infectious desire to discover new heights, and connect with the community of climbers!

As a Camp Counselor, on a typical day, you may:

  • Sharing your passion for fun & adventure by helping kids, ages 6-13, enjoy their spring break through climbing related games & activities.
  • Seeing things from other perspectives by working with a diverse group of up to 30 young participants.
  • Sharing creative beta with other Camp Counselors in order to provide the best possible experience for each of the kids and parents alike.
  • Climbing together by offering support, guidance, positive energy, and encouragement to all Summer Camp participants.
  • Learning from your beta while identifying and preventing any risks or hazards to keep each day focused on fun.

  • Summer Camp Dates: 6/10/19 – 6/28/19 & 7/8/19 – 8/23/19

This is a part-time seasonal position with potential for further development into part-time Youth Program Coaching Staff.

Groups & Parties Assistant Manager

Sender One Climbing is looking for an enthusiastic, hard working Groups & Parties Assistant Manager to join our LAX Groups & Parties Department! The ideal candidate is someone who can inspire and lead Sender One staff to create unique and exciting party experiences for our guests. The Assistant Manager is an individual who will share their passion for climbing with others at Sender City and Sender One.

As the LAX Groups & Parties Assistant Manager, on a typical day you will:

  • Provide excellent customer service while working the Groups & Parties Phone line; Answering customer questions, booking events and confirming upcoming party details
  • Track customer inquiries through a CRM program and follow up with customer leads
  • Analyze KPIs to create plans that excel the department’s growth and achievement of goals
  • Ensure that Party Attendants are maintaining high standards by leading trainings, shadowing shifts and meeting with staff members
  • Act as a liaison between Front Desk staff and the Groups & Parties Department Manage party supply inventory and place order requests as needed
  • Schedule staff so that proper staff to climber ratios are met
  • Report to Groups & Parties Manager with progress of projects, concerns and ideas

  • 25-30 hours a week, potential to grow into a full-time position
  • Two shifts a week working the Groups & Parties phone line
  • 6-10 Groups & Parties office hours a week to complete projects
  • One Weekend day a week as Front Line staff
  • Minimum of 2 Party Attendant shifts per month
  • Weekly G&P meetings and Supervisor meetings and quarterly all staff meetings

Bookkeeper

Sender One is looking for an experienced, hard working, detail oriented, Bookkeeper to join our team. A
Bookkeeper who has strong analytical skills, ability to embrace change, comfortable with accounting software
Quickbooks, Excel, Bill.com, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). A passion for
climbing and outdoor activities a plus. Two to three years of bookkeeping or accounting experience is preferred
but not required.

As a Sender One Bookkeeper, on a typical day you may:
• Complete Quickbooks data entry for multiple Sender One Climbing accounts
 – Task include but not limited to are:
 – Record Credit Card and Bank Transactions weekly
 – Execute journal entries monthly
 – Reconcile accounts monthly
 – Pay invoices due weekly
 – Financial reporting as directed by management and/or accountant
 – Fill in account data for meetings week
