Youth Programs Coach

Sender One is passionate about educating children and teenagers about climbing! We are seeking a Youth Programs Coach who can manage and connect with youth of all ages, foster enthusiasm, and guide young people to reach their full potential. A Coach should be an individual who can both inspire the youth climbers and relate easily with their parents. Enthusiasm and passion are a must, as well an infectious desire to discover new heights, and connect with the community of climbers!

As a Youth Programs Coach, on a typical day, you may:

  • Instruct and inspire groups of six to twelve kids, ages 6-17, on techniques in Sender One’s training curriculum;
  • Empathize with and provide excellent service to both parents and their children;
  • Adapt and modify coaching techniques when needed to keep your group engaged or address the needs of a particular athlete;
  • Support, guide, positively reinforce, and encourage all Youth Program participants;
  • Help to improve the Youth Program and its offerings, both recreational and competitive.

This could be a good job for you if you are someone who:

 

  • Has experience working with youth, ages 6-17, professionally, as a coach or in camps;
  • Provides excellent customer service;
  • Solves problems and thinks fast on your feet;
  • Likes working collaboratively;
  • Can inspire, motivate, and develop participants;
  • Has climbed consistently for at least the past 2 years, more experience is preferable.  Your climb both indoors and outdoors regularly and frequently.

Your time commitment to the Sender One team:

  • Work at least one weekend day (Sat-Sun) per week.
  • Work six to eight hours per week; a minimum of eight days per month.  As the number of participants in our program grows, the commitment could increase to twelve or more hours per week.
  • Attend quarterly staff meetings.

Recreational Youth Programs Manager

Sender One is passionate about educating children and teenagers about climbing!  We are seeking a climber who is passionate about the development of youth in climbing, enjoys administrative work, and can lead and develop a team of recreational coaches and camp counselors.

As the Recreational Youth Programs Manager, on a typical day you will:

  • Answer questions about recreational youth programs from parents, guests, and Sender One staff through face to face interaction, phone calls, and emails
  • Coach regular practices, camps, and classes
  • Manage, train, and develop 6-12 supervisors and coaches
  • Oversee the development and execution of team, camp, and class curriculum
  • Manage the administrative tasks of the Recreational Youth Programs department including, but not limited to: setting up memberships, scheduling makeups, updating the offerings calendar.
  • Schedule staff for practices, camps, and classes
  • Report to the Youth Programs Manager with progress of projects, scheduling, and staff development
  • Be accountable for recreational teams, camps, and class satisfaction and sign ups
  • Train staff members on policies and offerings of Recreational Youth Programs

Yoga Instructor Substitute

As a Yoga Instructor, in a typical class, you’ll need to:

  • Connect to students with a big smile and positive energy;
  • Mentor new yogis and staff by understanding their viewpoints and sharing yours;
  • Provide instruction, encouragement, adjustments, and other information to students;
  • Inspire new people to discover yoga;
  • Manage the inherent risks to your students involved with practicing yoga.

You are someone who:

  • Provides excellent customer service and attentive instruction;
  • Enjoys introducing climbers to yoga and yogis to climbing;
  • Develops new and creative sequences to teach as well as adaptations for each student;
  • Thinks independently and creatively;
  • Climbs!

Your time commitment to the Sender One team:

  • Teach one(1) to three (3) classes per week
  • Create and lead optional yoga workshops (quarterly, biannually, or annually)

SNA OPEN POSITIONS

Weekend Staff

As a Weekend Events Staff member, on a typical day you will:

  • Connect to guests with a big smile and positive energy;
  • Lead groups of children through icebreaking and team building activities;
  • Guide participants through interactive climbing challenges in Sender City;
  • Manage the inherent risks involved with climbing as guests;
  • Instruct guests on the competent and acceptable use of our equipment and facilities;
  • Take guests on orientation tours and provide information on our offerings;
  • Determine the offering best suited to a guest and get them doing it;
  • Participate in a daily huddle with three to six other front line staff;
  • Inspire participants to attempt and complete new challenges they did not believe they could.

This could be a good job for you if you are someone who:

  • Has a passion for hosting events and working with children and large groups;
  • Has experience working with kids and groups (professionally a plus);
  • Provides excellent customer service;
  • Solves problems and thinks fast on your feet;
  • Likes working in a collaborative environment;

  • Enjoys climbing and can top rope belay.

Your time commitment to the Sender One team:

  • Work weekends (Sat-Sun);

  • Manage, train, and develop 2 direct reports plus a front-line supervisory & coaching staff of 10-15 employees
  • Oversee the development and execution of all Youth Program offerings including, but not limited to, the offering schedules and curriculums
  • Oversee the administrative tasks necessary for all Youth Program offerings including, but not limited to, parent correspondence, billing & scheduling
  • Responsible for operational & financial performance of all Youth Program offerings
  • Report to the Gym Manager with operational & financial status reports
  • Establish a fun, safe, healthy, and community focused Youth Program culture that delivers high athlete and employee satisfaction
