How Do I Book A Class At Sender One?

After you’ve taken a look at our catalog of available classes below and found the perfect one for you, all you have to do is book your spot right here on our website. Just click on the “Schedule & Booking” button to check out the calendar for times and availability for that class. Once you choose your date and time, continue following the instructions to book your spot. Please note that all climbing class reservations must be made 24 hours in advance to participate in any class.

Rope Skills

intro to climbing

This course is designed for people with little or no climbing experience. It will teach you how to belay — manage the rope in order to keep the climber safe. You will also learn basic knot tying, climbing commands and safety checks. After completing this course, students will be able to climb independently at Sender One.

Cost: Free for members/$39 non-members
Duration: 1 hour
Prerequisites: None
Age requirement:  14 years of age and over
Includes: Rental equipment and day pass

intro to lead climbing

If you already have experience top roping, and are interested in taking on a new and exciting challenge that will test your skills, check out our introduction to lead climbing! This two part class teaches participants how to lead climb and belay in two hour sessions. To take this class, top rope climbing experience is required.

Cost: $99 for members/ $119 non-members
Duration: 2 days, meeting once per week for 2.5 hours
Prerequisites: Ability to onsight 5.10b or V1, Top rope belay card
Age requirement:  14 years of age and over
Includes: Rental equipment and day pass

Please note:  This class requires a minimum of two participants to run.  Classes will be rescheduled if only one participant signs up.

accelerated intro to lead climbing

This is a slightly condensed version of our Intro to Lead Climbing class, with a single 4 hour session that will cover everything you need to know about lead climbing and belaying.  If you want to start lead climbing right away, take the faster route and book your spot in this class. Top rope climbing experience is required.

Cost: $99 for members/ $119 non-members
Duration: 4 hours
Prerequisites: Ability to onsight 5.10b or V1, Top rope belay card, 6 months climbing experience
Age requirement:  14 years of age and over
Includes: Rental equipment and day pass

Advanced lead climbing

This advanced 2-hour class is designed to give you the tools to improve your lead climbing and belay skills to the best of your abilities. Topics include better lead climbing technique, dynamic belaying, and mental approaches to combating stress and fatigue on the wall. Expect a significant amount of lead fall practice.

Cost: $39 for members/ $49 non-members
Duration: 2 hours
Prerequisites: Sender One Lead Belay Card
Age requirement:  14 years of age and over

Movement and Technique

Having proper climbing technique and controlling your movement is necessary to become a truly great climber. Our Movement & Technique classes will fine tune each move so you can be efficient on the way to the top. Check out our available classes and book your spot so you can start climbing like a pro.

Intro to Movement

Designed to provide 1st time climbers with the tools they need to have a successful day on the wall. Intro to Movement will go over climbing basics such as how to use your climbing shoes effectively, how to avoid over-gripping, establishing efficient movement, and basic body positioning techniques.
