Climbing Classes

Sender One offers a variety of classes to help you grow your climbing experience.
  • Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance to participate in any class. Refer to the calendar for times and availability. Make your reservation online.

  • Cancellation Policy: Refunds will not be granted for cancellations. You may be issued credit for the amount paid. To transfer your paid class registration to an alternate date, you must contact Sender One 24 hours before the class start time.

Rope Skills

Introduction to Climbing

15This course is designed for people with little or no climbing experience. It will teach you how to belay — manage the rope in order to keep the climber safe. You will also learn basic knot tying, climbing commands and safety checks. After completing this course, students will be able to climb independently at Sender One.

Cost: Free for members/$39 non-members
Duration: 1 hour
Prerequisites: None
Age requirement:  14 years of age and over

Introduction to Lead Climbing

Are you a top rope climber that’s ready to try the sharp end? This two part class teaches participants how to lead climb and belay. Top rope climbing experience is required.

Cost: $99 for members/ $119 non-members
Duration: 2 days, meeting once per week for two hours
Prerequisites: Ability to onsight 5.10b or V1, Top rope belay card
Age requirement:  14 years of age and over
Includes: Rental equipment and day pass

Accelerated Introduction to Lead Climbing

This is a slightly condensed version of our Intro to Lead class.  This single session class teaches participants how to lead climb and belay. Top rope climbing experience is required.

Cost: $99 for members/ $119 non-members
Duration: 4 hours
Prerequisites: Ability to onsight 5.10b or V1, Top rope belay card, 6 months climbing experience
Age requirement:  14 years of age and over

Flight School

This advanced class is designed to give you the tools to begin lead climbing to the best of your abilities. Topics include better lead climbing technique, dynamic belaying, and mental approaches to combating stress and fatigue on the wall. Expect a significant amount of lead fall practice.

Better Beta Series

This eight week series focuses on one specific topic per week. From mental strategies to dynos, everything will covered! Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Foundations I: Introduction to Movement and Technique

Ever wonder how climbers make it look so easy? Find out in this three part series, meeting once per week for two hours. Lay the foundation for smooth and efficient climbing and you learn to push instead of pull your way up the wall.

Foundations II: Advanced Movement and Technique

This three class series attacks the more difficult concepts of mental strategy involved in climbing harder grades and steeper terrain. Movement drills, route reading, dynamic climbing, and more are discussed and thoroughly practiced.

Crack Climbing

Learn tips and techniques about the art of crack climbing in an intensive course that covers everything from hand jams to tape gloves.

**NEW** Adult Training Club (ATC)

ATC is Sender One’s coached training group for adults who want to improve their climbing while climbing with others. This weekly program focuses on strength training, conditioning and technique. Every session will have a structured work-out or lesson. Club members will train for their personal goals, adult competitions and outdoor projects.

Cost: $40 add on to membership
Duration: Group meets weekly on Thursdays from 7-9p
Prerequisites: Sender One top rope card and ability to onsite a 5.10
